After what has seemed a very long winter the signs of spring are now, at last, emerging. Although it has been cold here in the South West, we did feel very lucky to have missed the snow (although it would have been nice to have been able to dust off the old sledge)! We had it all round us. Dorchester - 15 miles to the East- was cut off, as was Lyme Regis a few mile West. The view above of Colmers Hill was taken from my kitchen door - very pretty, but just a dusting of snow! All this cold weather ensured that we did very well selling the thermal underwear and lovely knitwear!
Christmas was much better in Bridport than many people thought it might be. We had a very busy time, both in the shop and online. As always a big 'thank you' for supporting us.
 New Spring/Summer stock is now arriving and we have started to put new collections on to the website for those Customers who live too far away to visit us in person. Among some of the new season ranges are:

Summer trousers from Bruhl - the favourite style isMontana, which isa good smart, casual trouser and is again available in the coral shade, as well as other useful colours.
 We are finding that the more formal styles are becoming increasingly popular - are men becoming smarter?? We can even supply a formal style with a pleated front, which is becoming something of a rarity these days.

 There is a great, new shirt range this spring from Colin Ross. They offer excellent value - with prices starting at just £14.95 - in classic styles, and in sizes from 14.5"through to 23". There is a wide choice of colours . Choose from a pure cotton, non-iron version or a cotton rich. Our Manager -John - (he is the person you probably speak to if you contact us by 'phone) has 'road tested' them and said that they are a good generous cut, with comfortable fit and easy to wash -( although we think that John's wife said that last bit!)

As well as the new Colin Ross shirts the Double Two brand is as popular as ever - they are excellent value from just £18.95, and most styles are available up to size 23". The Paradigm range which is a non-iron, pure cotton, micro fibre twill is especially good. The Oxford English Dictionary defines paradigm as "a pattern or model, an exemplar" - we simply know it as an excellent shirt.

We are also pleased to be offering Tootal pyjamas - with either an elastic or tie waist. A
 gentleman who has been a customer for many years recommended them to us. He has tried many other more expensive brands, but says he prefers the cut of the Tootal. They are made form an easy care Polyester and cotton cloth.

After all, if anyone knows about sun protection it is the 'Aussies'.

We have also addedthe famous Bonsoir pyjamasfor ladies'to our website - if you want to treat someone to a very special gift this could be it..........or simply spoil yourself. All the cloths and patterns are delightful. We wish that we could enable you to feel the fabric - they are all pure cotton - and simply beautiful. The other rather nice thing about Bonsoir is that they are made 'just up the road' from us in Yeovil.

Also popular with our Dorset ladies are the Double Two blouses. These sell out season after season, so this year we have put a selection online. They are all pure cotton, most have short sleeves - although not TOO short (they cover those parts of our arms which we like to keep covered!) - and one style has three quarter sleeves.
If you plan to visit Dorset in the coming months we would be delighted to meet you. We are very lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world with lovely countryside and of course, the famous Jurassic Coast. Dorset is a lovely place to take a short break or holiday - there is an abundance of good B&B s , hotels and guesthouses.
