Welcome to our Spring Newsletter
Now that Easter has been and gone, we thought it was time to bring you up to date with our shop, and tell you about the new summer ranges.
Most of the stock which has been arriving over the past few weeks has been ordered during the previous Autumn, (we have just finished ordering for next Autumn and Christmas!), and with the best will in the world, it is very difficult to remember exactly what we selected! Occasionally there are discussions along the lines of, ‘well I would never have ordered that’, but more often it’s a case of ‘I remember ordering that, it was the one we all liked’!
Most of the ordering for the Men’s Department is done in the shop with the Representatives from various firms coming in and showing us the ranges, and between John, Dawn and myself we whittle the selection down to what we think (and hope) the good folk of West Dorset will like.
We find people are shopping more for quality, and individuality and as an independent business with our fantastic customer service we think we are well placed to meet their needs.
The last time we wrote to you in the Autumn we were getting ready for the forthcoming winter months. Now Spring is here and we are welcoming back the many visitors who enjoy this lovely part of England. If you are planning a trip to Dorset anytime soon, do pop in and say hello, and fill in the visitor’s book. We are always interested to know where people come from.
Paxman’s Pants!
Like the rest of the country we were facinated to read in the press about the trouble poor Jeremy Paxman was having with his underpants and socks.We have four different makes of underwear in stock, with various styles in each make, so when we found out about his dilemma, we decided that we should try to help. The problem we had though, was he a brief or boxer man? Eventually we sent him a pair of Sloggi-for-Men,(we’ll leave you to guess which style) and a pair of Pantherella socks which are made in England. Awhile later we had a nice letter of thanks.

Personal Tailoring…by Magee…...coming soon
We have been stocking Magee Clothing for years, and they have recently introduced a ‘personal tailoring service’, which means that you can have a suit or jacket made to your exact specifications. Select the cloth, lining and buttons of your choice and if you usually find an ‘off the peg’ garment a little too large on the waist or short in the sleeve this can all be rectified. Later this month, John will be going on a course to find out more details. Magee have sent us a bunch of cloths in preparation and they are really lovely. Do call in and have a look if you can.
