This beautiful Harris Tweed jacket is produced from 100% pure new wool that is woven by hand in the crofters' cottages in the Western Isles of Scotland, as it has been since 1846.
Only if the tweed cloth meets the specification of the Harris Tweed Authority can the 'Orb' label be granted. It is protected by an Act of Parliament which was passed in 1993.
Each jacket produced by Harris Tweed of Scotland Ltd.contains an Orb label with a reference number which relates to the weaver that produced the cloth.
This particular cloth is a mix of muted greens and browns in a herringbone design, with an overcheck of tan, claret and navy. The jacket is a button two style, and has side vents at the back. It would look equally good with a casual pair of jeans, or a smart pair of cavalty twill trousers.
