Our Price: £
95.00
This is a very special sweater. It is a
Limited Edtion
garment - only 300 of each style / colour have been produced. An individual number is given to each garment to denote its sequance in production.
The label inside reads:
In buying this garment your have bought into a littel piece of Alan Paine history. Our English Explorer Collection was inspired by our connection with the eminent English mountaineer George Mallory (1886-1924). Mallory took part in three expeditions to Mount Everest, the final one being his last when he and his climbing partner disappeared somewhere on the North-East ridge on 8th June 1924. His frozen body was discovered 75 years after his disappearance.
Numerous items of clothing were recovered and one such item bore the label W F Paine, 72 High Street, Godalming: the shop owned by Alan Paine's father, William Paine and the place where William founded his knitwear business in 1907.
The garment has been knitted from the finest Lambswool which originates from the Geelong region of Australia by Z. Hinchcliffe & Sons Ltd., spinners since 1766.
It has been produced in modern UK factories with the latest technology on the mule spinning system to ensure the softest and most luxurious Super Geelong lambswool available in the market place.
